Program International Seminar Product Compliance and Supplier’s Declarations of Conformity (SDoC) diselenggarakan atas kerja sama antara PT INVARR Indonesia dan GED Advisory Australia.

2 Day Seminar
Product Compliance and
Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity
Seminar title: Product compliance and Supplier’s Declarations of Conformity (SDoC)
Seminar summary:
This seminar introduces the topic of product compliance and the content of ISO/IEC 17050 Parts 1 and 2, the international standards for declarations of conformity by manufacturers and suppliers.
Product compliance and declarations of conformity are important activities to ensure industry, wholesalers and retailers supply safe products to the market, manage their product liability, and meet regulatory requirements.
This applies to products produced for the domestic market as well as for export, or for the control of imported products.
The seminar identifies the underlying infrastructure that is in place to enable product conformity to be established and monitored. It identifies the different parties that can be involved in product conformity, and the various ways that claims of conformity in the market can be made. The seminar will also introduce the international requirements for product conformity that underpin market acceptance of products and international trade, including examples from ASEAN countries, and demonstration of compliance with European Union Directives and CE marking.

International Expert in Standardization and Conformity Assessment
Graeme Drake is an independent expert in standardisation and conformity assessment. He is a former Head of Conformity Assessment and Secretary of the ISO Committee on conformity assessment (ISO/CASCO) for the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in Geneva, and is currently the Chairman of the Joint Standards Australia and Standards New Zealand Committee on Conformity Assessment (QR-010 and Chairman of the Standards Australian Committee on Compliance Systems (QR-014).
Graeme’s involvement in compliance and conformity assessment started as Divisional Manager for engineering, construction and local government standards at Standards New Zealand. After then working at ISO, he returned to Australasia and became the General Manager, Operations for Australia’s second largest certification body, which is now BSI. He then moved to the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA), one of two government recognised accreditation bodies in Australia principally accrediting testing laboratories and inspection bodies. In these roles he advised on product compliance and conformity frameworks and procedures, and on the use of Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity as a regulatory tool and as a method to manage supply chain risk and integrity between businesses.
Since 2010 Graeme has successfully established an international consulting and training business, GED Advisory. GED Advisory currently provides advice to industry, regulators, certifiers and accreditation bodies on product compliance and conformity assessment in the areas of construction products, food supply chain assurance, consumer products, controlled products, natural resource management and education. GED Advisory also assists conformity assessment bodies to prepare themselves for accreditation; and training of accreditation bodies’ assessors on ISO/CASCO standards.
Graeme is currently the Convenor of the ISO/CASCO Technical Interface Group that provides input on verification, auditing, testing, inspection and certification provisions across many ISO technical committees.
Graeme holds a bachelor degree in regional planning, a postgraduate diploma and Master’s degree in business, a short course certificate in negotiation and conflict resolution from Harvard University Law School, and the Australian Institute of Company Director’s diploma. He is also a qualified trainer and assessor.
Graeme is a full member of the New Zealand Planning Institute, the Australian Institute of Management Consultants and sits on Australian Accreditation Board for Standards Development Organisations (ABSDO). In 2013 was a recipient of Standards Australia’s National Standards Award.
